Unleashes the
more powerful components of the report writer and allows the individual
much more creative freedom in extracting and manipulating
data.
This course
assumes the student has a working knowledge of all the topics covered
in both the Introductory and Intermediate level courses.
Topic Outline
| 1. Macros |
The macros
topic is continued but this time we get into detail. In fact from
this point on most examples will contain macros. |

Looping Operators & Techniques |
A more in-depth
review of the DO control structure and it's related looping operators
is done. Techniques and tips for utilizing these control structures
are also covered. |
| 3. MV Arrays |
We cover how
to reprocess the child segments of your data structures to a format
of your choosing. |
| 4. Advanced
Line Attributes |
ECB and ECE
attributes are covered along with an example to illustrate their usefulness. |
| 5. Reading
Object Code |
Not pretty
but often very necessary. We teach you how to read and utilize the
object code as your initial troubleshooting tool. |
| 6. Initializing
Reports from Standard |
We cover how
to use the "always interesting" initialize report from standard
routine. We use the routine to initialize a standard report and then
create our own version. |
