NPR Report Writing
Designed for the individual who has done the introductory material
or equivalent and is ready to tackle the more customizable aspects of
the report writer.
This course assumes the student has a working knowledge of all the topics
covered in the Introductory level. However, the examples provided will
generally cover most or all of the introductory topics so its possible
to have an experienced programmer start at this level.
Topic Outline
| 1. Report
Writer Fragments |
We do an introduction
and overview of using report fragments followed by two hands-on examples
demonstrating how to set up and utilize these critical components. |
| 2. Control
Structures |
Introduction
to the all important IF and DO control structures. First we do
an overview of both and review the syntax of each. We then follow
this up with in depth examples that makes sure you understand the
core concept behind these powerful structures. |
| 3. Slash
Arrays |
Considering
all of the data in your Meditech applications are stored in arrays
it's a good idea to learn about them. We do just that using the temporary
slash storage structure. |
| 4. Looping
Operators |
We briefly
looked at these in the control structures but now we go into detail
about the looping operators and how to use them. |
| 5. Intro
to Macros |
Although primarily
an advanced topic macros are so useful and powerful that we think
an introduction at this level is essential. |
